KARACHI: Pakistan has high hopes of the shooters at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
This was stated by the president of Pakistan Olympics Association (POA), Lt. Gen. (Retd) Arif Hassan.
He pointed out that appointment of internationally qualified foreign coach for the training camp was part of the National Sports Federation which has the backing of the Pakistan Sports Board.
Arif Hassan was talking to shooters Ghulam Mustafa Bashir and Manhal Suhail at the PN Shooting Range Bahadur, Karachi, says a statement here on Tuesday.
Shooter Ghulam Mustafa Bashir who had qualified for Rio Olympics, is being trained by Belarus's coach Vladimir Kovalenko. Manhal Suhail is being trained by local coaches.
Arif Hassan said that he expects that the shooters would perform well at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
He stated that it is best opportunity for our sportsmen to benefit from the qualified coaches.
The office bearers of National Rifle Association of Pakistan thanked Arif Hassan.
