An outline-workshop on economic growth: KU
KARACHI: A stakeholders' workshop on framework for economic growth of Pakistan will be organized at the University of Karachi on September 20.
The moot is being held under the auspices of the Department of Economics, University of Karachi.
Chairman of the Department, Prof. Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, on Friday said that the workshop is being organized by the university of Karachi in collaboration with the Planning Commission of Pakistan, the Governance Institutes Network International (GINI) and DFID.
It is a part of the consultation process involving all stakeholders for creating economic literacy and local ownership of the economic reforms under the framework for economic growth of Pakistan formulated by the Planning Commission and approved by the National Economic Council.
The workshop is expected to be attended by about 70 participants including academia, parliamentarians, government officials, representatives of business community, civil society.NGOs etc.
Focus of the moot will be on stakeholders' dialogue to create societal awareness and local ownership of economic reform with a view to facilitating implementation of new growth framework.
