Indonesia's Aug car sales rise 13.2pc y/y

JAKARTA : Indonesia 's domestic car sales rose 13.2 percent from August last year, data from industry showed on Friday.

carJAKARTA: Indonesia's domestic car sales rose 13.2 percent from August last year, data from industry showed on Friday.

Domestic car sales volume reached 73,279 units from 64,762 unit in August last year, led by Toyota , Mitsubishi , and Daihatsu , according to the Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers Association.

Sales in August fell 18 percent from the previous month due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Sales during the January to August period totaled 579,662 units or 68.19 percent of the association's target this year of 850,000 units. The association estimates sales in 2011 could reach 860,000 units.
