BEIJING: China's cotton imports in August stood at 207,000 tonnes, down 13.8 percent from the same period last year, an industry website said on Wednesday citing customs data.
However, August imports rose 31.8 percent from July, said the report published on www.cncotton.com, a website operated by China National Cotton Reserves Corp.
In the 2010/11 crop year starting from September, China imported a total of 2.58 million tonnes of the crop, up 2.93 percent on the year, it said.
