Corps Commander satisfied with Army relief operation in Badin
HYDERABAD: Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Zaheerul Islam visited the flood affected areas of Badin on Monday.
The Corps Commander expressed satisfaction over the rescue and relief work carried out by the Pakistan Army to help rain and flood affected people. He visited the areas of Khoski, Pangio, Shadi Large, Jhudo and other which have been submerged by floodwater gushing out from Left Bank Outfall Drain (LBOD).
In his briefing, Commander Badin Garrison Brigadier Javed Iqbal informed the Corps Commander that besides rainwater, LBOD spillovers and breaches had flooded many areas in the district.
Brigadier Iqbal further informed that 8,375 people have been rescued so far from the marooned areas by Pakistan Army which has also set up medical camps in several areas of Badin where free medical treatment was being provided.
