Firdous meets Norwegian Foreign Minister
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan met with Norwegian Foreign Minister and discussed matters related to bilateral ties.
Norwegian Foreign Minister appreciated the role of democratic government in protecting minorities , rights in Pakistan and acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
The Information Minister said that Pakistan and Norway share the tradition of democracy and pluralism.
Regarding Pakistan- India ongoing peace process Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan informed the Foreign Minister of Norway Pakistan believes that dialogue is the only way forward as far as Pakistan- India relations are concerned.
She said that the two countries have identified eight sectors and the concerned departments are working on it.
The Information Minister said "we have to focus on Kashmir issue and that has to be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people".
Norwegian Foreign Minister appreciated the resumption of dialogue process between Pakistan and India and said that extremists should not be allowed to disrupt ongoing peace process.
He said that Norway is also helping Pakistan in building tax system.
