Target of sowing wheat on 2.43 mln acres of land underway

imageBAHAWALPUR: Target of sowing wheat on 2.34 million acres of land set for Bahawalpur division is underway and would be achieved shortly.

According to the sources of agriculture department, so far wheat has been sowed on 1.2 million acres.

For Bahawalpur district the target was set at 702,000 acres but sowed at 378,800 acres. In Bahawalnagar division wheat has been sowed on 465,440 acres against target of 872,000 acres.

For Rahim Yar Khan the target was set at 768,000 acres but wheat has been sowed on 361,375 acres. The weather is still suitable for sowing wheat therefore agriculture department is hopeful to achieve set targets.
