Bollywood most celebrated director/producer Karan Johar also referred as ‘KJo’ has been in several controversies from past many years. Here are few of them which raised lots of eyebrows on him.
KJo and SRK closeness and then they fall apart
Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan who was once a best friend and SRK always appeared in Karan Johar’s every movie including ‘DDLJ’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and ‘My Name is Khan’, both falls apart after reports of Salman Khan getting close to Karan on the small screen came in limelight. Shah Rukh Khan who had been regular visitor of Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee with Karan’, last season, Salman Khan was the first guest on the show.
KJo first love
Karan Johar, the most eligible bachelor of Bollywood is proud to be single, but the famous filmmaker has confessed that he fell in love once. While speaking to Akshay Kumar on his talk show, Koffee with Karan, he confessed, “The only woman in my life who I thought I was in love with was your wife (Twinkle Khanna). I was madly in love with her. I named my character in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ after her because I was in love with her.”
KJo sexual orientation
Karan Johar has been quoted in an interview to an Indian media saying that he is aware of the jokes on his sexual orientation on the micro-blogging site, Twitter. He said he wouldn’t answer the question with validation. He also has said that there was a lot of conjecture about his sexuality and he had no problems with people's conjecture. He asserted that he will never speak about his personal life or clarify if he is a heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual or asexual.
Karan Johar and Anushka Sharma
Karan Johar, being the ace director of Bollywood for many years had rejected actress Anushka Sharma to play the lead in ‘Band Baaja Baraat’. He tried his best to convince Aditya Chopra not to cast her for the movie, however, Aditya Chopra insisted on her selection as he was impressed by her acting. He later apologized to the actress for coming her way.
Karan Johar and AIB Roast
Karan Johar had been criticized for hosting the controversial comedy show ‘AIB Roast’. His offensive jokes with actor Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor raised lots of criticisms on him. Still, he didn’t give up and refused to bow down to all the outrage by the moral police.
