ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar has directed early finalization of national health policy framework.
Chairing a high level meeting here, the minister said it was essential to harmonize efforts and provide for a framework that would allow the Ministry of National Health Services and provincial health departments to work in close coordination in accordance with their defined roles and responsibilities.
She said the framework would provide for a clear vision and road map for the health sector in Pakistan which is critical to provision of quality health care services and prevention of disease.
The minister was informed that consultative process with provinces is continuing which is being fast tracked and a comprehensive consensus National Health Policy framework would be ready in the next two months.
She was also informed that to provide for a national data repository for the health sector is being developed in coordination with the provinces which would ensure ready access to all health related data from across the country on an information portal, adding, the measure would facilitate policy making and planning process.
