Moonis Elahi declared proclaimed offender

LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday declared Moonis Elahi, son of former Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, as proclaimed offender in the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam.

Judicial Magistrate Irfan Basra passed the order on an application moved by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The FIA informed the court that Moonis Elahi was summoned several times to appear before its investigation team probing into the NICL scandal but he failed to comply the order.

The judicial magistrate declaring him proclaimed offender, ordered him to appear before the court on March 11.

Moonis is allegedly involved in facilitating one of the land deals of the NICL scam.
