french-stock-exchangePARIS: French share prices edged up in early trade on Monday, gaining 0.15 percent, after the European Central Bank said that it would support the market for bonds isued by distressed eurozone countries.

The CAC 40 index of leading shares advanced 4.77 points to 3,283.33 points, in the face of deep uncertainty about the eurozone debt crisis and sentiment after Standard & Poor's downgraded its rating for US debt from triple "A".
