national-assemblyISLAMABAD: Members of different political parties in National Assembly Friday recommended unity and harmony among all the political parties on all national issues to remove political divides in the country for long lasting peace and development in the country.

Taking part in debate, PML-N leader Shireen Arshad said that Karachi is the economic hub of the country and stronghold of major political parties of the country but unfortunately the law and order situation of the city was not under the control of provincial government. She said that indiscriminate action should be taken against criminal elements and assassins.

They should be punished in public to become an example for the others. She said all the political, parties should have to join hands against anti-state elements and criminals for long lasting peace in Karachi.

She recommended modern training for police force and Rangers and provision of state of the art weapons to them. MQM MNA Abdul Wasim said that terrorism, price hike, inflation, unemployment and poverty are main causes of unrest in Karachi and other parts of the country.

He said that time has come to address the issues and problems of the masses especially the poor people. Otherwise, it would result in a revolt in the country, he warned.

The Parliamentarian deplored that feudal lords and rich segment of the society want to rule the country without giving opportunity to intellectuals, scholars, professionals and experts.

Laiq Muhammad Khan criticized the government for not apprehending and punishing the assassins of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and questioned if the government could not arrest the killers of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto how it would establish writ of the government in the country.

He suggested that heads of all political parties should have to leave all their political activities and sit together to find out measures for durable peace in the Karachi.
