argentinaBUENOS AIRES: At least 10 people were killed and some 20 injured Sunday in a multiple car pile-up on a road northwest of the Argentine capital, police and local government sources said.

Health Minister Alejandro Collia who was en route to the crash site in Buenos Aires province, told TV news channel C5N that the many wounded included a young girl who was in a serious condition.

The crash, involving a truck, van and at least five other cars, occurred around 8:00 am local time (1100 GMT) near Las Flores, 116 miles (187 kilometers) from the capital Buenos Aires. Authorities cited thick fog as possible explanation for the deadly accident.
