Taiwan stocks end flat, HTC falls again
TAIPEI: Taiwan stocks ended flat on Wednesday, as a lift in plastics counters offset pressure from electronics shares on concerns over cloudy industry outlook.
HTC Corp shed another 4.92 percent, following its limit-down close on Tuesday after Apple Inc's fresh lawsuit against the company. It has fallen 20.5 percent since July 6.
The main TAIEX index fell 2.95 points to 8,488.06, after opening 0.13 percent lower. The plastic sub-index climbed 2.25 percent.
Electronics counters slipped 0.81 percent, with Hon Hai tumbling 3.68 percent.
TSMC, the world's largest contract chip maker, rose 2.7 percent.
The Taiwan dollar gained 0.39 percent to T$28.886.
