Taiwan stocks steady after previous session's fall
TAIPEI: Taiwan stocks traded flat after opening 0.13 percent lower on Wednesday, taking a breather from the previous session's biggest single-day percentage fall in four months.
Smartphone maker HTC bounced 1.31 percent after being limit-down on Tuesday following Apple Inc's fresh lawsuit against the company.
The main TAIEX index rose 0.15 percent to 8,503.96 points by 0104 GMT, after ending down 2.02 percent in the previous session.
Nanya Plastics climbed 1.63 percent. Newspapers said the company has got local government approval to resume production at two plants after a fire in May.
Electronics shares edged up 0.15 percent while banking shares were flat.
The Taiwan dollar gained 0.36 percent to T$28.895.
Foreign investors were net sellers on Tuesday, bringing their total selling to T$14.953 billion this month.
