ISLAMABAD: With the prolonged sit-ins by the 'Inqilab' and 'Azadi' marches, the stories of paid protesters not being allowed to go back to their homes have slashed the headlines of not only national but the international media.
The body language and the facial expressions of the protesters say it all that they never expected the sit-ins to get that much prolonged that it's almost been a month since they reached the federal capital.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s Azadi March and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT)'s Inqilab march started their journey separately but their motives were same and that was why they brought their protesters with the same intention to pressurize the government and get their legitimate or illegitimate demands accepted.
But, with the stories by the BBC Urdu such as "Hired PAT Demonstrators Not Allowed To Go Back Home" have exposed the real face of the leadership of marches.
Karim Dad, an old person of over 60, told this subscriber that he came to the march alongwith his family but with the passage of time he was now terming it "the biggest mistake of his life".
"I came with my wife and four kids to Islamabad and we were promised that it would not take more than four or five days but its almost a month and now there is no way back for us," he said.
Another person in the sit-in, on demand of anonymity, told that he wanted to return to his hometown in Bahawalpur but could not.
He told that he came with his family and was told that it would not take more than three or four days but its lingering and don't know when would this come to an end.
He said that even if he wanted to return to home he was told that Police might arrest him or have to face dire results.
Some of the protesters in the sit-ins' told that the march organizers take daily attendance as they were paid for the purpose.
However, Umer Riaz Abbasi, PAT Deputy Secretary Information told that all those sitting in the protest are here at their own will and they have neither been forced nor paid.
