LONDON: Gold prices extended losses in early afternoon trade on Friday, falling 1 percent to a six-week low at $1,483.70 an ounce, as the dollar index firmed and crude oil prices slipped.
Spot gold was bid at $1,486.06 an ounce at 1318 GMT, against $1,499.60 late in New York on Thursday.
