An external and independent Mid Term Review (MTR) of the support to Technical Educational and Vocational Training (TVET) in the country was taken in the presence of two experts from European Union in Ministry of ET&SHE.

The objective of the MTR was to access implementation of the project in terms of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact to-date, sustainability and replication of the activities that have undertaken, said a press release.

The Minister said that PM Youth Skill Development Programme will train twenty five thousand youth with skill to work with dignity in the international market.

He further told the experts though after 18th Amendment in Constitution, education was devolved to provinces, yet Technical and Vocational Training came under the purview of the Federal Government.

It does not mean to undermine the role of the provincial technical boards but to provide the students and the employer better understanding about the credentials of the applicant, he added.

The Minister stressed upon the need of public private partnership as this cost much less with much better quality.
