petrolLAHORE: The shortage of petrol continued in the metropolis forcing commuters to line up at pumps on the third consecutive day as only five to 10 percent of the filling stations could provide the fuel to vehicles.

Due to closure of dozens of petrol filling stations, long queues of commuters were seen at stations situated on Davis Road, Empress Road, Shahrah-e-Fatima Jinnah, Johar Town, Shimla Hill chowk and Barkat Market where limited supply of fuel was available.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) was available in the city on Wednesday but the shortage of petrol irked motorcyclists and car owners with single fuel consumption in their vehicles.

Keeping in view the gap between demand and supply, the petrol pumps were providing only Rs 100-200 fuel to motorcyclists and upto Rs 500 to four-wheelers.

People have demanded that the Punjab government must take urgent measures to improve the situation and action against all those responsible for the shortage.
