CM asks Committee to hold talks with KESC management

qaim ali shah KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has directed a five-member committee to hold talks with the management of the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) and the workers of the utility to resolve the dispute peacefully.

The Chief Minister who had expressed concern at the situation arising out of the strike of the workers of the KESC, was chairing a high-level meeting with the management of the utility at the CM House here on Friday.

He directed the KESC management to take immediate steps for the resolution of the problem keeping in view the prevailing situation in the metropolis.

Qaim Ali Shah also instructed the Inspector General of Police Sindh to ensure the protection of KESC's installations and equipment and that action be initiated against the miscreants.

He also asked the five-member committee which had already been formed to hold meeting tomorrow with the KESC management and the employees so as to help resolve their dispute.

Chief Minister also urged both the parties to hold unconditional talks peacefully for immediate resolution of their dispute so that relief could be provided to the people.

The meeting was attended by the Sindh minister for Power, Ms. Shazia Marri, IGP Sindh, Fayyaz Leghari, CCPO Karachi, Saud Mirza, KESC's Dr. Naveed, Brig. (Retd) Mazhar ul Haq.
