samsungSEOUL: Samsung SDI , the world's top maker of rechargeable batteries, said its joint venture with Germany's Robert Bosch was in talks with Volkswagen AG to supply electric vehicle batteries.

CEO Park Sang-jin said Samsung SDI was in in-depth discussions with Volkswagen and other top global car makers but declined to give details.

Samsung is looking to expand into United States, China and India in the electric vehicle battery market.
