Premier Gilani deeply grieved over death of Saleem Shahzad
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic death of senior journalist Saleem Shahzad, who was abducted Sunday and his dead body was found in Mandi Bahauddin.
Gilani took strong note of the incident and ordered immediate inquiry into the kidnapping and murder of Saleem Shahzad. He assured that the culprits would be brought to book at every cost.
The present government, he said, strongly believed in the freedom of expression and considers freedom of media as an essential ingredient to strengthen democratic values and culture.
The prime minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the members of his family to bear this irreparable loss.
