ISLAMABAD: Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Jatio has called for enhancing the production capacity of exiting unites before building more industries in the country.
"The government will start a comprehensive trainings for technical workers through National Productivity Organization (NPO) for the promotion of industry in the country", Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi stated this during his meeting with Mari Amano President Asian Productivity Organization (APO) in Japan, who called on the Minister here.
The Minister said that for the promotion of food industry, the government would also launch different projects in the country.
Ghulam Murtaza Jatio said that government is extending trainings to farmers for the extraction of oil from flowers and vegetables.
The farmers, he said are also being provided latest machinery for this purpose.
This oil, he said would be used for exports to foreign countries in production of perfumes there.
The Minister further said that Pakistan produces the best fruits but regretted that due to poor food processing, and low quality branding and packing, the Pakistani fruits are not getting the high prices in the international markets.
"We will soon launch fruit processing and packing projects across the country", he said.
During the meeting Mari Amano told the Minister that from next year Pakistan will hold the position of President APO which will also provide an opportunity to Pakistan to benefit from the expertise of the member states experts in order to enhance the capacity of domestic work-force the country.
Amano said that APO is a non profitable and non official organization with focus on enhancing the production capacity through trainings, seminars and workshops of the industrial workers of Asian member countries.
He lauded the Prime Minister's Quality award and said that through such kind of awards the quality of production has increased in countries like Dubai.
The President of National Productivity Organization (NPO) Pakistan, Khawaja Yusuf said that his organization will organize an international APOs conference next year in Pakistan in which not only participants/experts form Asia but also from Europe will be invited.
"Pakistan in the conference will take benefits from the modern expertise of the experts in the fields of agriculture, energy and industrial production", he remarked.
