LONDON: The international community has been impressed upon to help the people of Jammu and Kashmir to redeem their right of self determination as Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) observe martyrdom week in memory of those who have laid their lives for their just cause.
Prof. Nazir Ahmad Shawl, Executive Director, Justice Foundation Kashmir Centre, London, said Wednesday that during this week functions would be held globally by the Kashmiri Diaspora and in different cities of the UK to reaffirm the commitment that struggle for attainment of self determination will continue till it is achieved.
He stressed on an inclusive dialogue between Kashmiris, India and Pakistan facilitated by International stake holders for regional and global peace.
Prof.Shawl noted that people of Kashmir aspire to be treated as human beings whose fundamental freedoms and basic rights must be safeguarded as per UN charter and UN commitments.
