Transporters seek security

KARACHI: Transporters have urged the Government of Sindh and the CCPO Karachi to take steps and provide security to the transporters.

According to President of Karachi Transport Action Committee Mohammed Ashraf, several dozens of transporters and particularly the rickshaw drivers have allegedly been targeted by unidentified people in the recent days.

Ashraf said that the situation was so serious that the transporters were very much perturbed and the Committee of the Transporters also seeks compensation to the families of the transporters made victim to the violence.

‘It is our appeal to the provincial government and the Police department to provide protection to the transporters without any discrimination,’ he added.
