ISLAMABAD: Gold price has surged to a record high of Rs.49,400 per tola (11.665 grammes) due to the price hike in the international market.
As the trend of increase in gold price continued in local and international markets, gold price surged by Rs 1,900 per tola in the country.
According to sources, bullion rates climbed to the highest level of Rs 49,400, surpassing the record of 23 April over Rs.47,500 per tola in the local market, reported a private TV channel.
The increase was seen after price of gold in the international market hit a record high with the depreciation of Pakistani rupees.
