ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Muslim League-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said that peaceful transition of the government was possible due to his party's contributions for democracy and nation's struggle for parliamentary system.
Talking to reporters after landing at the airport here, the PML-N president said that he was thankful to the nation who played a pivotal role on May 11 in transition of power through a peaceful and democratic manner.
"I pray for peaceful transition of governments, the governments should come and go in a civilized manner as peaceful transition manifests civilized behaviour," he said.
Nawaz Sharif said that he considered himself, his party and the nation fortunate for having played their parts in this democratic struggle.
"I must laud the nation for its role on May 11," he added.
