KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's central bank said Friday its international reserves stood at $122.2 billion as of last month, sufficient to finance nearly 10 months of imports.
Bank Negara Malaysia said in a statement its reserves, which totalled 369.9 billion ringgit ($122.2 billion) as of April 15, were also 4.7 times its short-term external debt.
The central bank said Wednesday that it’s chief, Zeti Akhtar Aziz, who played a key role in steering the Southeast Asian state through the global recession, had been reappointed for a new five-year term starting on May 1.
