ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed on Monday that over 35,000 stranded Pakistanis have so far been brought back to the country from different parts of the world.

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, Minister for Communication Murad Saeed said that there were over 122,000 overseas Pakistanis who wanted to return to the country.

He said 73 bodies from UAE and 46 from Saudi Arabia had also been brought back to the country.

He said we have increased our flights after enhancing testing capacity for Covid-19 and building quarantine centres.

He said it is the utmost effort of the government to bring back the stranded Pakistanis on an emergency basis.

He said we have also provided rations to the stranded Pakistanis.

Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan said, while speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, that he would apprise the National Assembly on Wednesday on the PIA aircraft tragedy, and steps to bring back Pakistanis stranded in various parts of the world.

Khawaja Asif asked the minister to also inform the legislators about the outsourcing of airports and selling of the PIA's hotels.

Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi laid, "the COVID-19 (Prevention of Smuggling) Ordinance, 2020 (III of 2020) and the Financial Institutions (Secured Transactions) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 (IV of 2020).

Zain Qureshi also introduced a bill to make provisions for the establishment of Pakistan single window (The Pakistan Single Window Bill, 2020).

Initiatives presented the report of the Standing Committee on the bill to provide for the establishment of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (The China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority Bill, 2020).

Malik Huhammad Ehsan Ullah Tiwana, chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs to present the report of the Standing Committee on the Bill further to amend the United Nations (Security Council) Act, 1948 [The United Nations (Security Council) (Amendment) Bill, 2020].
