SEOUL: The South Korean won was down in early domestic trade Wednesday, giving up its gains from a day earlier as the crisis in Cyprus and concerns for broader euro zone stability weighed on risk appetite.
The local currency was quoted at 1,116.8 against the dollar as of 0025 GMT, compared with 1,111.6 at the end of onshore trading on Tuesday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index was down 0.5 percent at 1,967.91.
June futures on three-year treasury bonds were down 0.02 points at 106.77 following Tuesday's report that the government will soon introduce an extra budget of more than 10 trillion Korean won to boost growth.
