The official trailer for ‘Cake’ starring Jennifer Aniston in the lead role has been released. Aniston stars as Claire Simmons, a woman who’s addicted to pain medication to ease her chronic pain.
In the latest ‘Cake’ trailer, gone is the fun, fans have come to expect from the ‘Horrible Bosses’ and ‘We Are the Millers’ films. Instead, this is a powerful, dramatic performance that shows struggle with weighty matters of death, suicide and recovery. Needless to say, Aniston has come a long way since her first movie credit in the 1993 horror ‘Leprechaun’, media reported.
As source revealed that, the film also stars Anna Kendrick as Nina, a member of Simmons’ chronic pain support group who commits suicide. Aniston’s character soon becomes fascinated with uncovering the details behind Nina’s death. In ‘Cake’ Aniston transforms herself-even going without makeup to portray a woman suffering from chronic pain.
The movie first began garnering attention after premiering at the Toronto ‘International Film Festival’ earlier this year. Now, the first official trailer for ‘Cake’ has been released and it’s making it clear that this role is unlike anything we’ve ever seen from Aniston before.
‘Cake’ features Adriana Barraza, Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Anna Kendrick and Sam Worthington and is directed by Daniel Barnz. The film will hit theatres early next year.
