Crime ratio decreases in capital in last three years, NA told

ab6ISLAMABAD: The crime ratio in federal capital has decreased in last three years as comparing the neighbouring Rawalpindi where crime ratio has registered comparative increase, State Minister for Interior Chaudhry Imtiaz Safdar Warriach said Wednesday.

 

Responding to a Calling Attention Notice in National Assembly, he said patrolling in various sectors, markets of Islamabad has been increased.

 

Community Police Centres have established in the markets of Islamabad which helped decreasing crimes in markets.

 

The patrolling and vigilance of "Kachi Abadies", hotels, restaurants have also been increased. A crime record office has also been established for maintaining record of released of the criminals.

 

Likewise, the released prisoners having criminal records are being kept under observation by the capital police.

 

He said some criminals used to flee to neighbouring Rawalpindi after committing crime in the capital.

 

Responding to a question of Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, he said some culprits of recent dacoity in G-6 has been arrested while remaining would be nabbed soon as their telephone numbers have been traced.

 

In 2010, a total of 310 dacoities were reported in Islamabad as comparing to 565 in Rawalpindi during the same period. In 2011, 574 dacoities were registered in Rawalpindi. In 2012, 584 dacoities were reported in Rawalpindi.
