No license granted to set up CNG station in current fiscal year: NA told

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Syed Naveed Qamar on Wednesday informed the National Assembly that OGRA has not granted any new license/permission for the establishment of new CNG stations in the country during the fiscal year 2012-13.

In response to a question during the Question Hour, he said that the federal government had imposed a ban on issuance of new CNG provisional licenses for establishment of CNG stations in the country on 6-2-2008.

To another question, he said that the government was not involved in import of crude oil and oil products due to deregulation in the petroleum sector. Imports were now being made by refineries and oil marketing companies directly, he said.
