KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity at Port Qasim was witnessed during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, furnace oil and edible oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Tuesday, said a statement issued here Wednesday.

Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 45% at the Port Qasim on Wednesday where total number of five ships namely ER, Perth, Nedlloyd Drake, CGM Mozart, Al Mukhtarah and MV Bow Pride are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 76,812 tonnes, comprising 59,844 tonnes imports and 16,968 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,068 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port Qasim last 24 hours.
