Ebad appreciated role of women journalists

imageKARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has said that ever increasing induction of women in journalism would result in better and fact- based reporting.

This he said while talking with the participants of a certificate course on fundamentals and practices in journalism here on Wednesday at the Governor House.

This course has been conducted by Dawood Global Foundation (DGF).

Governor Sindh said that journalism is considered fourth pillar of the state due to its significance in highlighting the issues being confronted by common man, for the authorities to take necessary action.

He further stated that women journalists have rendered tremendous services in highlighting various social issues, healthcare problems and plight of women and children in our society. Their news and stories have not only been appreciated within the country but have also gained international recognition, he added.

Governor Sindh said that women journalists are also doing an excellent job in electronic media as well. Their devotion and hard work is being lauded by every quarter of the society he added and said that they are also doing extremely well in the field of investigative journalism which was once considered out of their domain.

He congratulated the participants of the course and hoped that they would utilize knowledge gained during the course in a proper manner.

Later, 48 participants of a month long course were distributed certificates on successful completion of the course.
