KARACHI: The City District Government Karachi(CDGK) has fixed the milk price in the metropolis at Rs. 60 a litre.
This was decided at a meeting here on Monday chaired by the Administrator Karachi, Fazal ur Rehman.
A CDGK statement said that the dairy farmers wanted to fix the milk price at Rs. 80 per litre.
However, the Administrator Karachi said that the price of Rs.80 a litre was not possible.
He said that the price of milk in Karachi would now be Rs. 60 per litre for one year.
The Administrator asked the Karachiites not to pay more price for milk than that has been determined.
He was of the view that if the people do not purchase milk for two days then the milk sellers would be forced to sell the milk at the price determined by the government.
The Administrator further said that the rights of the consumers would be fully protected.
He also said that action would be initiated against those indulging in profiteering.
