ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Professor ND Khan on Monday termed PM Gilani's visit to India a good omen for improving bilateral ties between India and Pakistan.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that Pakistan has always desired to maintain diplomatic ties with India.
To a question, he said that Pakistan is being ruled by a democratically elected government which wants that all outstanding issues including Kashmir and other should be resolved through dialogues with India.
He said that the recent development is a very pleasant one and a few days back the interior secretaries of both countries held a very positive dialogue process. The Interior Ministers of both countries will possibly hold a meeting shortly, he added.
He said both countries established a hotline on terrorism due to it being their common threat and all the issues were discussed despite the fact that there was no agenda set up for the dialogue.
The dialogue process has set up an out line for the future course of action, he said.
He hoped that the Foreign Ministers of both the countries will meet before the Prime Ministers meeting and said that the day is not far away when all outstanding issues will be discussed between the leadership of both the countries.
He said this diplomacy will lead to a peace process.
