Philippine central bank sees annual inflation in Dec at 2.6 to 3.5 pc

MANILA: The Philippine central bank expects annual inflation in December to be at 2.6 to 3.5 percent, Governor Amando Tetangco said on Wednesday.

The forecast compares with November inflation rate of 2.8 percent, an eight-month low.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas kept its key policy rate at a record low of 3.50 percent earlier this month, saying the economy needed less support with strong domestic demand seen extending into next year, although it saw risks from strong capital inflows.
