QUETTA: A complete strike was observed on Friday in parts of Balochistan against the attack on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulan Fazal-ur-Rehman.
Political and religious parties besides Anjuman-e-Tajran endorsed the called given by the JUI-F to record their protest against the suicide attack on Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman which claimed several lives in Charsada.
Shatters of the main markets in Liaqat Baazar, Prince Road, Abdul Sattar Road, Jinnah Road, Mecongy Road and Toghi Road remained down for complete day while the traffic plying on the roads was also witnessed less compared to the routine.
Strike was also observed in other areas including Zhob, Kuchlak, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Chaman Muslim Bagh, Musakhail and Ziarat. However, no incident of violence was reported from any part of the province.
Stringent security measures were put in place as Personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies were seen patrolling on the roads to avert any eventuality.
