SC Larger bench to hear petition in Judges' appointment case

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary has constituted a four member larger bench of the Supreme Court for the hearing of a civil review petition on judges of Lahore High Court and High Court of Sindh on Friday.

The bench will take up the civil review petitions No.s 46 & 47/2011 in Constitution petition No.11 & 18/2011 regarding non acceptance of recommendation of judicial commission by parliamentary committee with respect to the judges of two High Courts.

The bench headed by Justice Mahmood Akhtar Shahid Siddiqui comprised Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez.

The above Civil Review Petitions have been filed by M.S. Khattak Advocate on record on behalf of the Federation.

Both Review Petitions have been drawn by K.K.Agha Additional Attorney General for Pakistan, which have been fixed for the hearing before the bench on Friday.
