KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim where four ships carrying containers and canola seeds were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Garin and Fertilizer Terminal respectively on Thursday, March 24th.
Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.
Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 46% on Thursday where a total of six ships namely C.V Dubai Express, C.V Anglia, C.V MSC Oslo, M.V Alaska-II, M.V Four Nabucco and M.V Mass Merit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice and canola seeds respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 70,329 tonnes, comprising 30,715 tonnes imports and 39,614 tonnes exports cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,659 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Three ships C.V Dubai Express, Anglia and C.V MSC Oslo sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
Four ships C.V Glory, C.V Magali, M.T north Fighter and M.T Mako carrying containers, chemicals and furnace oil were expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Friday, March 25, while container ship Antje Wulff is due to arrive on Saturday, March 26.
