Iran slams Israeli air raids on Gaza Strip

Published Updated

TEHRAN: Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Thursday slammed Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip, the official news agency IRNA said.

"Iran strongly condemns the criminal Zionist attacks against Gaza," said Mehmanparast.

"The Zionist regime is exploiting the climate of war in the region to achieve its nefarious objectives and spill the blood of Gaza's innocent people," he added.

Israeli warplanes launched another raid on Thursday morning against the Gaza Strip, following days of escalating violence between armed Palestinian groups that have launched rockets deeper and deeper into Israeli territory, and Israel, which has conducted deadly raids in retaliation.
