Pakistan, China nuclear cooperation is transparent: Spokeswoman FM

BEIJING: China reiterated on Thursday that its civil nuclear cooperation with Pakistan is consistent with international obligations and under the umbrella of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"As for the nuclear cooperation between China and Pakistan, I would like to stress that in recent years the two countries" have carried out some cooperation in this field, said spokeswoman Jiang Yu in foreign office press briefing.

She made it clear that the cooperation is consistent with our international obligations and subject to IAEA supervision.

She pointed out that the cooperation between the two countries has been made transparent for the IAEA.

Yu said that countries have the right to peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
