ISLAMABAD: Acting Pakistani Ambassador to Libya Ali Javed on Tuesday said that at least 5300 Pakistanis have been evacuated from Libya and no countrymen is affected in the unrest so far.
Talking to PTV, he said that the Pakistani Embassy is trying its utmost to evacuate the remaining expatriates from Libya.
To a question, he said that the embassy is collecting data to adopt safety measures for the safe evacuation of all the Pakistanis by different means after the establishment of no-fly zone in Libya.
He said, no Pakistani has been killed or injured and no one has come under any sort of attack during the war in Libya.
Ali Javed said that the Government of Pakistan had sent seven PIA jumbo jets to Tripoli, during March 6 to 17 to ecacuate its nationals.
He said that the Pakistanis living and working in Libya had contacted the embassy and requested that they wanted to return home.
He said the government's first priority is the welfare of all the Pakistanis in Libya and the Pakistani Embassy in Egypt has been directed to help the evacuated Pakistanis.
