The National Institute of Health (NIH) has confirmed a new polio case from Tehsil Sarai Norang Lakki Marwat as the total count of polio cases jumps to 54 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the details, one wild polio virus has been isolated from stool sample of three months old boy, resident of Hati Khan Village, UC Nar Abu Samand, Tehsil Sarai Norgang, District lakki Marwat. The child was zero doses for essential immunization while his SIAs history in under investigation.
The Coordinator EOC Abdul Basit has regretted over the report of new polio case from Lakki Marwat saying that parents including society as a whole should feel the responsibility of preventing their children from vaccine preventable diseases.
