Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Thursday condemned the firing incident in which police said personnel of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and Rangers opened fire to disperse protesting truck drivers at the Superhighway near Karachi. According to a statement issued from Watan Kor, the headquarters of the QWP, he demanded a high-powered probe into the incident involving the killing of four drivers belonging to North Waziristan.
Reports said that four truck drivers were killed and eight sustained injuries in the firing incident. Aftab Sherpao demanded the government to order investigation into the tragic incident in order to bring the perpetrators to justice. He also called upon the government to compensate the families of the slain truckers.
