The Regional President of International Apparel Federation (IAF) and Chief Coordinator Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Ijaz A Khokhar has said that necessary arrangements were being finalised for holding World Fashion Convention in November. The Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce and Textile Razak Dawood along with the International Apparel Federation President Han Bekke will perform the opening ceremony of the convention in Lahore.

Talking to journalists here on Saturday, he said that several committees and sub-committees had been constituted for finalization of the arrangements for holding fashion convention. Highlighting the salient features of world fashion convention, he said that mega fashion show will help in presenting softer image of Pakistan abroad, it is expected that delegates from 45 countries would attend this mega event while embassies of leading countries and different associations of the textile value chain of the country had also been taken on board in this regard.

Ijaz termed the convention as the biggest achievement towards pulling the country out of economic crisis through boosting exports of value-added textile products. The Regional President IAF further stated that whole textile chain bodies of the country had been involved to avail maximum opportunity of this global summit.
