LAHORE: Secretary Health Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nadeem said on Tuesday that mechanical larvaeciding had been completed and only one confirmed dengue case was reported in Punjab so far.
He sated this during a meeting presided over by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Health Kh. Salman Rafiq to review the implementation of steps taken by different departments for dengue prevention and control.
The provincial health secretary informed that during the last three days, Health Department teams visited 9,988 houses and 87,357 containers for vector surveillance. He said, during these visits Dengue Larva was reported at few places. Kh. Salman Rafiq directed the TMAs to accelerate and complete registration and licensing of tyre shops procedures on emergent basis.
He directed the administrations of Mayo, Sir Gana Ram, Services, Jinnah, Said Mitha, Kot Khawaja Saeed and Government Nawaz Sarif Social Security Hospitals to improve the cleanliness condition in their respective hospitals.
