ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday said the law and order situation in the country was improving due to effective measures taken by the government.
Addressing the first ever summit on Pakistan's Leaders of Tomorrow organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting here at the Presidency, the Interior Minister said the youth should be included in the decision making process to make the policies more effective and result-oriented.
He urged the youth to play their due role in removing the misperception about Pakistan's soft image.
He said `terrorism technology' had become popular and due to the availability of modern technology, the terrorists had become more active.
The Interior Minister briefed the students about the measures taken by the government against the terrorists and improving the law and order situation in the country during the last four years.
He said the Pakistan Army and other law enforcing agencies played a pivotal role in the improvement of law and order situation, but due to international interference, there was lot to do in that regard.
There is a mindset behind the terrorists as the most of the terrorists belong to the criminal groups and are easily trapped by the extremist elements, he added.
The Minister also highlighted the attitude of some of the elements who were responsible for disturbance in Balochistan and said despite sincere efforts by the government, those elements did not agree to stop their anti-Pakistan agenda.
He said the terrorists were getting financial support from the trade of opium and were creating problem for the government which was working within limited resources.
