ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr Asim Hussain on Tuesday said that measures have been taken to reduce the petroleum products to facilitate the masses.
He said that the decision was taken to provide relief to the masses.
Talking to a private television news channel, he said that there are different factors involved in the increase of petroleum products including increase in the prices of international market.
Dr Asim said that petroleum prices in the neighboring countries are higher as compared to our country.
Replying to a question, he said that there is need to improve the tax culture.
He said that the government is taking all possible measures to provide relief to the masses and in this regard, all out efforts are being made to achieve the objectives.
Replying to another question he said "There is no truth that the government is taking profit through petroleum products."
The Minister said that there is need to fix the tax structure.
